A white Minneapolis police officer who knelt on George Floyd’s neck started fire on a couple during their career that is 19-year and almost 20 complaints and two letters of reprimand filed against him.

On line court public records indicate that the officer whom endured guard during the scene, Tou Thao, ended up being sued in federal court in 2017 for alleged force that is excessive. Based on the lawsuit, Lamar Ferguson reported Thao and their partner stopped him while he had been walking to their girlfriend’s household in 2014 for no reason and beat him up. The town eventually settled the lawsuit for $25,000.
City documents show six complaints have now been filed against Thao. Five had been closed without any control. One stays available. The documents didn’t add any further details.
Thomas Lane joined up with the force as a cadet in March 2019, according to online city documents. No information about J. Alexander Kueng’s service history had been straight away available. City documents reveal no complaints against either of these. Solicitors for Thao and Kueng did return messages n’t. Lane’s lawyer, Earl Gray, declined remark.
